2012 is a new body of work that responds to transitional moments and paradigm shifts. Previous works have examined the rapidity of news media and potentially life altering moments. 2012 on the other hand, slows things down and revels in the everydayness; meandering through my personal and shared environments, in the midst of the fast pace around me. Past representations of moments of anxiety have made way for levity and consideration of the lighter sides of our human condition. Relocating my place of residence has created a shift in perspective. Triangle was the entry point into establishing a new sense of place and of being. Along a new curtain wall, this place is like a perch from which to observe the ‘time lapse’ like changes taking place around me. Once a View records a poetic moment of atmosphere and habitat now obscured by this rapidly transforming cityscape. Change is inevitable, and my interest is in the present. In 2012, the change is rapid…the beat goes on!
